I would do everything in my power to oppose such a marriage that I intended my own daughter, the pale Miss de Bourgh; to become Mr. Darcy's wife   and that nothing would stop it. But Elizabeth answered you can interfere in your nephews private business, but you cannot interfere in mine Elizabeth and Darcy were alone and now was the moment for her to thank him privately for everything she knew he had done for Lydia and for her family Mr. Darcy said let me tell you that I did it for you, and not for your sister .I wished to give happiness to you alone your family owe me no thanks.
